RTM provided MEP/FP engineering design services for the gound-up, 7,400-square-foot fire station located in Joplin, MO.
Based on a prototype concept, the facility included two apparatus bays, a community/training room, an office, day room, full kitchen, exercise room, living quarters for five personnel, living and support facilities, and a turnout gear room designed to double as a storm shelter. The design served as an efficient, yet practical solution to meet the City of Joplin’s stringent budget while also incorporating many sustainable design concepts.
