RTM provided design of the MEP systems for a ground-up Chicken N Pickle restaurant in Wichita, KS, a unique concept that combines eating with entertainment. The scope of work included full MEP design for the restaurant, game room, pickle ball courts, a burger hut, free-standing restrooms, and the site itself.
Some challenges faced on this particular project included utilities coordination to the numerous buildings and structures on site as well as providing an optimum amount of comfort to patrons through lighting, misters, and infrared heaters. Because the buildings for this establishment are designed to be very open to the outdoors, RTM needed to provide solutions that would keep occupants comfortable in the heat or cold without disrupting the outdoor design and culture of the Chicken N Pickle concept. RTM’s approach consisted of the use of infrared heaters on the exterior, coupled with air curtains at any large openings.
