Team SoloMid E-Sports Training Facility

Team SoloMid, also known as TSM will be the largest e-sports training facility and gaming studios in North America, fielding players in League of Legends, Hearthstone, Super Smash Bros., Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, Fortnite and Vainglory. The training facility features a variety of spaces including open office space, private gaming rooms, a fitness studio, and a retail space.

RTM Engineering Consultants provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services for the 25,000-square-foot tenant improvement of the facility. One of the biggest design goals surrounding the build out of involved creating the ultimate training environment for players. In order to do so, the project team needed to create a specialized lighting design for the facility, ensuring a modern look as well as limiting the impact of glare on the computer screens. Another challenge faced during the design process involved providing adequate conditioning of the space, with various customized computers and equipment creating higher than normal heat gains to the space. RTM worked closely with the client to ensure all of the designed systems would provide optimal comfort for the facility occupants.
