RTM Engineering Consultants provided engineering services to develop performance-based design documents for building mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for a new 15,000-square-foot, single-story, medical office building, including a 1,600-square-foot retail pharmacy.

RTM developed drawings and performance specifications to define the scope of work for MEP/FP and technology systems to include schematic design narrative as well as design development documents. RTM also coordinated state reviews and inspections as necessary and handled addendum documents and responses to information requests from bidders.

The electrical systems include circuit breaker type MDP and distribution panelboards to best utilize space available in the electrical room. A natural gas generator with automatic transfer switch was pad mounted near the utility transformer.

Technology/communication systems include emergency power for refrigerators and computers, and video surveillance with cameras.

Mechanical systems are VAV zoned with a split system in the data room and air curtains in each vestibule.

Plumbing and fire protection systems included sanitary and storm sewers, domestic and fire water, and gas utilities. The building is 100% sprinklered and flows and tampers are monitored at the main hospital building.
