RTM is providing MEPFP engineering design for renovation of the headquarters for Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. The goal is to create a workplace that will have a more positive impact on the people who work with Goodwill as well as the people that donate to and support the organization.

The project includes a complete gut of 59,192 square feet within the building to provide a new floor plan for administrative offices and classroom space. The team has established a set of goals for the project to provide a safe, clean, modern, efficient facility. Scope includes the update of technology for online meetings and collaboration, new staff amenities, flexible work environment for the Post-Pandemic office workflow, more open collaborative workspaces, enclosed spaces for privacy and focus, and an outdoor courtyard for staff to enjoy.

In collaboration with the team at Goodwill Central Florida and KLPN Studio, RTM provided an initial engineering assessment to determine the capacity and condition of existing HVAC equipment, electrical, and plumbing systems to assist in creating a concept study. In addition, RTM’s scope includes reconfiguring the parking area with new landscape islands and lighting, as well as reworking the front exterior elevation and lighting. RTM will also provide detailed coordination of IT, reconfigure sprinklers and HVAC, and replace HVAC with new units within area of scope.
