Colorado Gold Distillery

RTM Engineering Consultants provided the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and process engineering design for the new 10,000-square-foot Colorado Gold Distillery facility, which opened in 2017. The facility includes production, distilling, and barrel storage space. In addition to traditional pot stills, Colorado Gold has one of the fi rst continuous stills in Colorado. This kind of still enables a continuous process for making their renowned vodka.

The continuous distilling process also brought on some engineering challenges to the project, as specifi c controls and modifi cations were needed to the original manufactured equipment in the facility in order to meet an increase in production capacity.

Additional process engineering includes mash transfer, product transfer and bottling, engineered ventilation or open fermentation room, and motor electrical rating validation. A complete Fire Risk Assessment Report was also presented to the regional building and fi re departments for demonstrating full compliance with all national and local codes.
