RTM Engineering Consultants is partnering with several gas and electric providers to expand its reach in helping clients lower spending and increase energy savings. With these partnerships, RTM is notified of program updates and opportunities that become available that can help clients in achieving energy saving goals.
We provide strategic counsel to clients as it relates to eligibility for rebates and incentives, which can be achieved through upgrading equipment or optimizing existing schedules and controls, a major benefit to our clients.
We are committed to delivering sustainable and energy-efficient solutions to clients and launching our Sustainability Studio furthered that commitment. Our commissioning professionals work to verify and document whether building systems are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained to ensure optimal facility performance, while determining if utility rebates and incentives can be applied to provide cost savings to the owner. Commissioning also ensures the inclusion of energy-efficient and operationally-based systems within new construction.
RTM submitted a recent project to Focus on Energy, Wisconsin utilities’ statewide energy efficiency and renewable resource program, in which we identified incentives for energy efficient LED lighting, lighting controls, and hot water boilers. Focus on Energy works to empower Wisconsin businesses and residents to make informed energy decisions and to reap the economic benefits. The project, which was Froedtert and The Medical College of Wisconsin’s new, three-story medical office building and outpatient clinic, has an estimated annual savings totaling more than 261,000 kWh and 15,000 therms of natural gas and resulted in a rebate of $20,000 paid to the owner.
RTM currently has partnerships with the following utility providers: Alliant Energy, Ameren Illinois, ComEd, Focus on Energy, MidAmerican, Nicor Gas, North Shore Gas, and Peoples Gas.
