RTM provided engineering and design of the MEP/FP systems for the New Lenox Metra Station of approximately 2,300 square feet at 201 Prairie Road. The new building includes a ticket office, waiting area, and 24-hour warming shelter. The building was designed to accommodate a food and/or beverage vendor in the future. A new “pay by plate” system was also instealled. Commuters will purchase a pay card and load funds at one of the new pay stations located throughout the site. The new station location allows for better traffic flow away from Cedar Road and provides better amenities to its riders. The project was completed under budget and will be an asset to the community for years to come.
