RTM Engineering Consultants provided mechanical and plumbing engineering design, as well as construction administration services for the University Medical Campus (Keck Medical Center Building).

The project required a dramatic expansion of an undersized OR into a state-of-the-art surgical room. The expansion impacted the adjacent rooms as well as large duct mains serving the entire floor below. Careful phasing ensured the surrounding surgical suite could be used without interruption to critical functions (all construction to the 4th floor was done via scaffolding). Our scope included laminar flow ceiling array, steam humidifier, chilled water fan coil, touch-screen HVAC controls, and medical gases (med air, O2, vac, CO2, nitrous oxide, nitrogen, and WAG) to new booms in the space.
