New Data Center

RTM Engineering Consultants is providing MEP/FA consulting services in support of the design and construction of a new data center project. The scope includes design‑phase coordination, document reviews, construction observation, and commissioning support for critical building systems. During design, RTM is participating in a series of virtual meetings to remain informed of ongoing project developments and observe key decisions affecting the data center infrastructure.

Throughout the design process, RTM is conducting multiple reviews of the MEP/FA documentation at major milestone releases, with an emphasis on critical data center systems while also evaluating general building infrastructure. Summary reports are prepared following each review.

During construction, RTM is performing periodic on‑site visits to observe progress and verify that work related to mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and supporting systems aligns with the design intent. Each visit is followed by a written report documenting observations. RTM is also developing an Integrated System Testing (IST) script for the critical power distribution system serving the data center. This effort includes coordination with the project team and incorporates testing of related life‑safety and security‑system interfaces.

At the conclusion of the project, RTM will provide on‑site IST coordination and oversee the testing activities alongside the construction team. Several on‑site sessions are planned to support both initial testing and any required follow‑up. Reports will be issued after each testing event summarizing results and overall system performance.
