RTM Engineering Consultants provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services for the Mabee Learning Resource Center (LRC) as part of the Steadfast Faith campaign, an initiative aimed at transforming the facility into a modern and collaborative learning hub.

The first project, completed in 2024 with a construction value of $2.4 million, converted the former broadcast studio into a film soundstage, upgraded the media lab, and relocated IT offices to the first floor. The renovated bridgeway and concourse were transformed into Neufeld Commons, a dedicated student study and gathering space. The project also included the replacement of outdated mechanical systems to improve building performance and reliability.

The second project, completed in 2026 with a construction value of $10.6 million, relocated the library to the second floor to support the institution’s shift toward digital resources. The first-floor renovation centralized key student support services, including the IT Help Desk, tutoring and writing labs, intercultural engagement spaces, and the Schmiedling Foundation Academic Success Center, named in recognition of a $500,000 grant from the Schmiedling Foundation. Additional space was created for the student-run coffee shop, Ground Floor Coffee. The project also included replacement of aging mechanical systems, improving energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and overall building performance.

Upon completion, the two projects transformed the Mabee Learning Resource Center into a contemporary Academic Success Center, providing flexible learning spaces, centralized student resources, and upgraded building systems that support an enhanced campus experience.
