RTM provided engineering and design of the MEP systems for the 2-story, 28,000-square-foot innovation center for DHL. This is the first U.S.-based innovation center where the global logistics company will showcase its products and projects in development.
The Innovation Center has IoT-enabled smart building, SageGlass self-shading glass solution, green and efficient building features, predictive and data-driven building conditioning, smart climate control, integrated building technologies, and the latest AV and digital technology.
The facility also demonstrates the latest in logistics technology. Included are various robotic solutions such as automated guided vehicles that can ferry goods through warehouses; mobile robots that can facilitate order fulfillment in e-commerce operations; and collaborative robots designed to help with repetitive tasks, such as picking and packing, are showcased at the center.
The state-of-the-art facility will allow DHL to host logistics trends and innovation events for up to 300 guests; and will enable closer engagement with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
