RTM Engineering Consultants provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services, including Title 24 compliance, for the core and shell of an existing 2-story office building. The scope also included a new exterior skin to modernize the aging building. The project included modifications to the HVAC system including packaged AC units, split system AC units, and exhaust fans, as well as plumbing systems including water, waste, and gas – including for the outside patio heaters and fireplaces. Because the office building is located immediately adjacent to Newport Harbor, special precautions were taken in order to prevent salt water corrosion to the equipment.
