RTM provided full engineering and design of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the newest Tangled Roots Craft Beer and Kitchen, located in the heart of Washington, Illinois. This mixed-use development includes 10,000 square feet of brewery and restaurant space, a rooftop deck with sweeping views of Washington’s historic district, and 2,500 square feet of residential space—all designed to bring people together around great food, drink, and community.

This marks the sixth location for Tangled Roots, continuing their tradition of offering craft beers brewed in Ottawa, IL, paired with a menu inspired by locally sourced ingredients. Working alongside Lohan Architecture, RTM designed efficient, high-performance MEP systems to support the complex needs of a full-service kitchen and an inviting guest experience both indoors and on the rooftop.

With a focus on comfort, sustainability, and seamless functionality, RTM is proud to help bring this dynamic concept to life in one of Illinois’ most charming downtowns.
