The 9th Floor West-wing shell space (approximately 21,200-square-feet) was built out to accommodate a new 24-bed In-Patient Medical-Surgical Nursing Unit with two Airborne Isolation Rooms, addressing the hospital’s growing community need for medical services. The project required careful coordination of existing utility shutdowns to maintain continuous patient care, as the ICU unit is located directly below the build-out. Additionally, utility services were pre-stubbed to support future expansion to the floors above.

RTM provided electrical and fire alarm design, plan check review support, and construction administration for the build-out of 24 patient rooms on the 9th floor shell space at Palomar Medical Center.
