RTM provided comprehensive mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and specialty lighting systems design and construction administration services for the complete remodel and expansion of a commercial building in downtown Aspen, Colorado. The project involved retaining the existing exterior walls and floor structure while replacing all mechanical, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and technology systems. Additionally, the interior stairs were enclosed with a fire-rated partition, eliminating the atrium.

The lighting design focused on selecting low-profile luminaires to complement the clean, modern lines of the architecture. Lighting was thoughtfully integrated into coves and wall slots to enhance visual interest, while the two-story stone wall was illuminated from both above and below to accentuate its textural depth. This updated lighting design highlights the building’s natural materials and warm finishes, creating an inviting atmosphere for clients.
