RTM provided MEP/FP engineering design for the 80,000-square-foot renovation and 20,000-square-foot expansion of Mayfair Mall to develop a new concourse for the addition of a new Nordstrom anchor store. The existing center was a two-story, enclosed, super-regional center with three existing anchor stores, a single parking deck, and two office towers – one at both the north and south ends of the property. The 1,118,000-square-foot mall was built in 1958 with the most recent renovations completed in 2001 and 2014.
RTM provided MEP services for the renovation and expansion to develop a new concourse, accommodating the addition of a new Nordstrom anchor store.
The concourse included multiple shelled retail tenant spaces for Pac Sun, Wet Seal, Ann Taylor Loft and Athleta stores, among others. In addition, RTM provided design for a two-story opening for an open staircase and escalator, decorative ceilings with cove, and the addition of a non-climate controlled two-level parking structure, including a non-enclosed connecting bridge. Heating was provided for stair/elevator enclosures only.
RTM successfully met the aggressive schedule of this fast-track project which was completed with very minimal interruption to shopping patterns and no loss of shopping hours.
