RTM provided MEP engineering design services for the new nine-story atrium hotel and convention center, constructed in two phases. The hotel consists of 265 rooms and 35 suites, while the convention center has 23 meeting rooms and 50,000 square feet of total meeting space. Amenities for the hotel include a full height atrium, internet cafe, indoor pool, two bars, three kitchens, and a commercial laundry facility.
The hotel is served by two 200-ton, water-cooled, chillers and three, high-efficiency boilers that supply four-pipe fan coils and air handling units. The convention center is conditioned by high efficiency rooftop units with attached, energy recovery units providing pre-conditioning to the ventilation air. The atrium is protected by a smoke control system designed using computerized smoke modeling.
