RTM provided MEP engineering design services for the new 13-story hotel and conference center located adjacent to the Frisco Roughrider stadium and Dallas Stars arena. The hotel includes 334 guest suites, an attached 116,000-square-foot conference center, and a four-story, 217,000-square-foot parking garage.
The hotel features a full height atrium, spa, internet cafe, indoor pool, two bars, three kitchens, and a commercial laundry facility. The hotel is served by two, 250-ton, water cooled chillers and three, sealed-combustion, boilers that supply a variable air volume, air handling unit serving VAV terminal units on the first floor and four-pipe, fan coil units serving the tower.
The conference center is conditioned by high-efficiency, rooftop units. The atrium is protected by a smoke control system designed using computerized smoke modeling. Both buildings are provided with automated lighting controls allowing multiple light levels in all spaces and daylight sensors to reduce energy cost by disabling light fixtures when natural daylight is available to illuminate the atrium and lobby.
The 680-space parking garage is made of precast concrete and is connected to the hotel and convention center. The parking facility is also adjacent to shopping and entertainment, making the hotel and convention center truly a destination location.
