RTM provided engineering and design of the MEP/FP systems for the interior renovation at the Best Western Grant Park Hotel, located at 1100 S. Michigan Ave in Chicago.
The scope of work included renovations to the first-floor lobby to feature updated finishes, ceiling and light plans, and minor floorplan changes. The guest rooms were renovated to become ADA compliant, including updating all toilets to meet compliance requirements. In addition, new lighting was designed for 172 guest rooms and all corridors within the hotel. The pool deck also was fully renovated to encompass new lighting and drainage. The exterior signage and renovation was a big part of bringing this project full circle as RTM designed for new energy efficient lighting systems and new controls.
The hotel remained open during the entire construction project, and was phased strategically to allow all work to happen while not inconveniencing guests.
