IRONWOOD, MI

RTM is providing the MEP engineering design for the Aspirus Grand View Clinic Hospital renovation and expansion in Ironwood, MI. This project will replace two existing adjoined buildings serving as the clinic space that is currently dated and over capacity. Construction of the new 40,750-square-foot clinic will feature a two-story facility connected to the existing hospital and includes oncology and outpatient therapy for patients.

The first floor includes outpatient clinic space, medical records, medical offices, mechanical and electrical equipment space, and a new entry with mall/waiting atrium space. Also part of the first floor will be the new chemo/infusion suite. The second floor will be clinic space and medical offices. The addition will utilize LED lighting through-out and derive both normal and emergency power from the existing hospital. The scope also includes a small addition to the hospital and renovation to house the new infusion department.

Design challenges include phasing the renovation and construction to eliminate any disruption to the hospital operations or reduction in patient satisfaction.
